COVID-19: North Central doctors threaten strike over assault on members

Medical doctors and other health workers in the North Central states have condemned the incessant assault on their members by the COVID-19 task force enforcing the lockdown in the region.

In a statement by the leader of the North Central caucus of the National Association of Resident Doctors, Abdulquadri Idrisu and deputy leader, Kelvin Emmanuel, in Jos the Plateau State capital, the groups threatened to call on their members in the 13 centres within the North Central states to stay away from the hospitals if their safety, security and freedom could not be guaranteed.

The statement alleged that the assault on doctors on their legitimate duties had persisted, adding that they have been harassed, humiliated and threatened, despite being among those exempted from movement restriction due to the nature of their work.
