Ahead of the December cum January festivities, Nigerians have been urged to test their immunity to avoid contracting COVID-19.

Speaking in Lagos on Friday during the launch of COVID-19 Antibody and Immunity test by Smart DNA company, the company’s head of business development, Bukola Ogunsanwo noted that there are chances of more COVID-19 cases during the festive season.

The Lagos based genetic testing company disclosed the Antibody and Immunity test for COVID-19 will reveal if individuals have any Antibody to help fight a COVID-19 infection, either from having been infected in the past or from being vaccinated.

“This new and innovative laboratory Antibody test is designed to give individuals peace of mind and unequalled assurance about the level of protection they have from either vaccination or natural exposure to the virus. It will potentially highlight those with poor immune response and therefore need to take extra care,” Ogunsanwo stated.

In her explanation, the test will be processed at one of UK’s leading laboratories, AlphaBiolabs. The test, she further explained, will analyze a sample of patients blood to detect the presence of COVID-19 specific Antibodies, including Immunoglobulin (IgG), thereby revealing a quantitative result which could be low, medium, high of not detected.
