A Non-Governmenal Organisation, ‘Waves of Success Foundation’ has distributed hand sanitisers to some communities in Kogi State as part of efforts to stop the spread of coronovarius.

Speaking during the exercise in Ejule community, Ofu Local Government Area of the State, Mr John Ocheja, Executive Director of the Foundation said the organisation has also commenced preventive sensitisation against the pandemic in the eastern part of the state.

The executive director noted that at least one million hand sanitisers would be distributed by the organisation in phases.

He said the gesture was aimed at complementing the ongoing efforts by the state and federal governments in preventing and controlling the spread of the virus.

He expressed the need for the general public especially those at the grassroots, to be hygiene conscious and follow the preventive measures and avoid contact.

“’The distribution of one million pieces of hand sanitisers is to complement both the state and federal governments’ effort in preventing and controlling the virus.

“The Government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is doing a lot but cannot do it all, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to carry the sensitisation campaign to the grassroots,” he noted.

The executive director called on all well-meaning Nigerians to partner with government at all levels to halt the spread of virus.

North CentralTrust reports that the team was also at the palace of Ogohi of Ejule, Ofu Local Government Secretariat, palace of the Eje Of Ofu and palace of Ogohi of Anyigba in Dekina Local Government Area, where they distributed sanitisers to staff and community members.

Enyojo shuaibu, National President, NAKOSS, who led the students’ delegation to partner with the Foundation on the campaign, commended the philanthropic disposition of the Chief Executive Officer  of the Foundation, Ocholi Yusuf, for the intervention and called on well-meaning Nigerians to emulate him.
