COVID-19: Management assures on safety in Abuja markets

Abuja Markets Management Limited (AMML) has assured of its commitment to ensure COVID-19

Abuja Markets Management Limited (AMML) has assured of its commitment to ensure COVID-19 non-pharmaceutical protocols are adhered to in all markets under its management in order to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Managing Director of AMML, Ibrahim Uzaibat, gave the assurance during a presentation of waste management and COVID-19 appliances to Wuse Market by Laurmann Nigeria Ltd.

He noted that since the second wave of the COVID-19, the company has carried out adequate sensitization and monitoring to ensure that traders and customers in the market observed the protocols.

Uzaibat thanked the company for the items, while reiterating that AMML and market managers have since stepped up measures to make the markets safe places to transact business.

He said AMML was working with traders’ associations and the FCT ministerial task team on COVID-19 such that any trader, shopper, or other users of the market that flouted any of the protocols would face the full weight of the law.

The donor of the items, Laurie Manaygin, said his company would continue to support the market to ensure a clean and COVID-19 free environment.

Ten sets of recycled waste bins and 10 wash hand buckets for COVID-19 were donated to  Wuse Market Traders Association.
