COVID-19: Kogi commences lectures on radio for secondary school students

Kogi State government has approved academic intervention Radio programme for students in the state to bridge the gap created by the school closure over COVID-19 pandemic.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Wemi Jones, disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja.

He explained that the Radio programme would commence as from April 16 for basic and secondary education with specific emphasis  on students in JSS 3 and SSS3 classes to help them prepare for their forthcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination BECE and West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination(WASCE)/ NECO respectively.

He noted that the programme would run throughout the duration of school closure, adding that the ministry was exploring other convenient E-learning options to capture all levels  of education in the state.

He urged parents to ensure their wards seize the opportunity offered by this initiative.

According to him, schedule of the Radio lessons, which will run from Monday to Saturday would be aired on Radio Kogi, Confluence FM 94.1.
