COVID-19: Kano public school wins cash, educational support materials

Brahimawa Community Girls’ School in Kano Municipal Local Government Area has received N100, 000 and several educational materials worth N360, 000 as part of the development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) direct school support for activities aimed at improving learning activities under the COVID-19 period.

The centre provided the intervention with support from the Open Society Foundation.

Speaking during the presentation of the cash and educational materials to the school, head of the dRPC team, Alhaji Abdulhamid Inuwa said that the award was aimed at supporting effective learning processes as well as mitigating the negative impact of the global pandemic.

Inuwa added that each of the victorious schools had been awarded cash ranging between N300,000 to N1million which would be disbursed in 3 installments.

In her address, the Principal of the school, Rabi’a Hamza Muhammed stressed that the centre’s support came at a good time when the intervention of the general public was needed in ensuring an effective and efficient educational sector not only in the state but the country in general.
