Kano State government on Thursday said it has so far vaccinated over one million people in the state with the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Director, Disease Control, Kano Primary Healthcare Management Board, Dr Imam Wada Bello, made this known at a media roundtable and orientation exercise held for journalists in Kano in collaboration with the state ministry of health.

Dr Imam said no less than 20,000 people were being vaccinated daily in Kano.

Speaking to journalists shortly, he said the state was targeting at least 50 per cent of over 7 million people in the first quarter of the year 2022.

The government called on media practitioners and development partners to use their mediums in promoting the cause of the exercise for the benefit of the people of the state.
