The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has called on Nigerians to obey the curfew rules imposed by President Muhammadu Buhari to halt the spread of COVID-19.
The IGP, represented by Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, Majid Ali, gave the warning in Abuja on Tuesday while receiving hardware protective face masks and other COVID-19 prevention kits from the National Council for Arts and Culture.
He warned Nigerians against roaming about the streets unnecessarily during the curfew hours to avoid confrontations from security personnel.

He appreciated the NCAC for the support stating that the donation was a sign that sign of recognition that the police were among the frontline workers in the fight against COVID-19.
Director-General, NCAC, Otunba Segun Runsewe, said the council was donating 1,000 locally made hardware protective cultural face-masks, regular face-masks made of local fabrics, sanitizers, liquid soaps, information handbills on COVID-19 preventive measures, among others, to the Nigerian Police for distribution to officers on the roads to protect them.
