COVID-19: Foundation donates isolation centre, items to Niger govt

El-Amin Foundation owned by Mohammed Babangida, son of former military President, Ibrahim Babangida, has donated an isolation centre and personal protective equipment to Niger State government as parts of its supports in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coordinator of the foundation, Alhaji Yakubu who made the presentation in Minna, said the gesture was in response to an earlier appeal by the Niger State Government, soliciting supports of all stakeholders in the fight against the pandemic.

The foundation donated a property to the government to be used as an isolation centre alongside items such as hand gloves, face masks, boots, bio-hazard bags and other protective gears to be used at the centre.

Yakubu stated that El Amin Foundation was set up to help humanity battle challenges such as the one the coronavirus posed to the world.

Secretary to the Niger State Government who is also Chairman of the State Task Force on COVID-19, Ahmed Matane while receiving the items on behalf of the government, commended the foundation for the gesture and assured that they would be put to good use.
