The Edo University Iyamho’s second semester for the 2019/2020 academic session would commence online on its Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and Academic Information Systems (AIS) for the students.
This step was taken following the continuous spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
As at 25 April, Edo State has 22 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
In a statement signed by the university’s registrar, Dr. Mrs. Isoken Ogboro and made available to journalists in Benin on Sunday, she said: “Students courses registration would commence on Monday April 27, through the AIS/LMS platform while the 2nd semester academic lectures would also start on Monday May 4.”
She advised all the students to visit the LMS and Edo University Iyamho’s AIS platforms to start the academic activities as stipulated above.
Mrs. Ogboro recalled that the institution was the first Nigerian universities to have introduced the Canvas Learning Management System in Nigeria.
She added that it recently introduced an academic information systems in the university to monitor, evaluate and access the students activities by both the management and the parents.
