The Edo State Commissioner for Health, Patrick Okundia, announced on Sunday that the state had recorded 87 new cases of coronavirus.
He also disclosed that 122 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from various isolation centres.
Okundia, who spoke in Benin, said the state had recorded a total of 1,353 cases of the virus.
He said: “We have recorded 87 new confirmed cases, with 31 cases reported at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH) and 56 cases at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
“We have made tremendous progress in the management of coronavirus, as 122 patients have been discharged from our isolation centres, bringing the total number of discharges to 718.”
He also said the state has recorded 47 deaths across the isolation centres in the state.
