The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has tested positive for COVID-19.
Also positive were some of the governor’s aides.

The State Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Uchenna Orji said on Saturday morning that the Governor and the affected aides are showing no symptoms but have been isolated in accordance with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocols.
“The Governor has therefore directed his Deputy, Dr.Eric Kelechi Igwe, to take over the frontline coordination of our fight against Coronavirus Pandemic to protect our people from the scourge of the virus,” Orji said.
Umahi further charged the people of the state to take the NCDC Protocols on COVID-19 more seriously.
Daily Trust gathered that the governor started manifesting COVID-19 symptoms last week which he mistook for malaria.
