The Borno Ministry of Education has begun ‘Learn at Home Programme’ for students preparing for West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
A statement by the Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Bello Ayuba said the programme is through the media involving radio and television stations in the state as well as social media.
Ayuba explained that the programme involved selected teachers, who would teach for 45 minutes per lesson.
He said subjects to be taught from Monday to Friday include Mathematics, English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Religion, Economics and civil Education.
The commissioner added that the subjects would be taught via broadcast stations like NTA Maiduguri, Borno Radio/Television, Dandal Kura Radio and Peace FM.
In another development, the restriction of movement in and out of Borno was being enforced.
NAN reports that the restriction was part of precautionary measures by the state against the spread of COVID-19.
The State Deputy Governor, who is also the Chairman, High Powered Response Team on COVID-19, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, made this known in a statement.
He said only those on essential duties and vehicles carrying food items, petrol, drugs, and other essential commodities would be allowed into the state. (NAN)
