A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Thursday, sentenced a 45-year-old man, Kehinde Bangbose, to one-year imprisonment for trafficking in banned drugs.
Justice Nicholas Oweibo sentenced Bangbose after he pleaded guilty to a three-count charge bordering on trafficking of Indian hemp, Tramadol, and Rohypnol.

Oweibo found the defendant guilty of the offences as charged and accordingly convicted him.
He sentenced him to a prison term of one year commencing from the date of his arrest.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Mr Jeremiah Aernan, said that the defendant committed the offences on Sept. 8, in Lagos.
Aernan said the defendant was arrested after a tip-off, at Cele area of Ikorodu.
Aernan said the listed drugs were classified in the NDLEA schedule as banned substances similar to Cocaine and Heroin LSD, which are all prohibited by law.
Reviewing the facts of the case, the prosecutor tendered some documents which included a written statement of the defendant, a drug analysis form, a request for scientific aid form and the drugs.
The court admitted the evidence and marked them as exhibits.
Aernan then urged the court to convict and sentence the defendant based on his plea and evidence provided.
He said that the offences contravened Section 11(c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation 2004. (NAN)
