Court sentences man to 1 month in prison for stealing N8,000

Senior Magistrate Aliyu Shafa handed down the judgment after the convict pleaded guilty to a one-count of theft.
Shafa, however, gave Musa the option of paying N2, 000 in fine and receiving six strokes of the cane in the court premises to teach him a lesson.
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Sgt. Abdullahi Adamu, told the court one Luka Vendi reported the convict, a scavenger, at the Wuse Police Station by on December 19.
