Four persons convicted of rape in Jigawa State have been sentenced to life imprisonment by a state high court.
The presiding Judge, Justice Musa Ubale, held that Umar Danladi, Abdulsalam Sale, Auwalu Yunusa and Mu’azu Abdurrahman were guilty of the offence of rape which was punishable by life imprisonment under Section 283 of the Penal Code.
Danladi, from Sabuwar Gwaram in Gwaram LGA, had lured and raped an eight-year-old girl while returning from school.
The second convict, Sale, from Rafawa village in Dutse LGA, raped a 12-year-old girl he met in Sabon Garin Barnawa and took to Kishin Gishin Jawa village.
The third case of Yunusa from Kafin Fulani in Gwaram LGA was over the rape of a six-year-old girl after she returned from an errand for him.
The fourth convict, Abdurrahman, from Sabuwar Gwaram in Gwaram LGA, lured an eighth-year-old pupil and had sexual intercourse with her.
