A Plateau State High Court has sacked the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Aminu Maigari, all Executive members and the Congress.
Justice P.L. Lot granted an Order of Interlocutory Injunction, restraining the NFF Executive board and Congress, from continuing to run the affairs of football in the country, until the Motion on Notice before the court is determined.
The court therefore, ordered that senior members of the civil service in the NFF should manage the affairs of football in the country within such period.
Hearing on the Motion on Notice will come up on July 11, 2014.
Meanwhile, Sports Minister and Chairman of National Sports Commission Dr. Tammy Danagogo has reacted immediately to the court order by appointing Lawrence Longyir Katken as the acting Secretary General of the NFF.
In a letter to Mr. Katken, the Minister said: “Further to suit No. PLD/J 342/2014 and an order of mandatory injunction, issuing from Hon. Justice PL Lot…you (Lawrence Katiken) is hereby directed to act as Secretary General of the NFF, and to take over the full management of the NFF.”
“You are to hold this position pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice in the referenced suit”.
