Court restrains police over land

In a motion exparte by one James Babagbale of plot 8,571 Road, FHA estate, Gwarinpa, Abuja and upon hearing the submissions of K. S. Olutekunbi Esq, counsel to the applicants, the court gave an interim injunction restraining the police from preventing or disturbing the plaintiff, his agents, workers or servants from entering, constructing and developing the land pending the hearing of an application for an order of interlocutory injunction.

Meanwhile, a letter from the office of the Minister of Police Affairs signed by one I. T. Abdulssalam on behalf of the minister to the Inspector General of police dated July 5, acknowledged receipt of a petition, alleging police disobedience to court orders and urged the police boss to prevail on his men to obey same.
