An Ado-Ekiti magistrates’ court sitting in has ordered the remand of one Ayeni Opeyemi (24) for killing a police officer in Ekiti State.
The prosecutor, Inspector Samson Osobu, told the court that remanding the suspect would allow the police to complete investigation while the duplicate file would be forwarded to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Inspector Osobu said the suspect killed the police officer, Inspector Adeeko Olakunle, at the Okeyinmi area of Ado-Ekiti on May 15, 2022.
He said the suspect confessed to the crime during investigation.
The Magistrate, Dolamu Kay-Williams, ordered the remand of the suspect pending the legal advice from the DPP and adjourned the case to July 13.
