An Ogba magistrates’ court in Lagos State has ordered the remand of a 63-year-old woman, Toriola Amope, in a custodial centre for attacking a seven-year-old girl, Islaniat Toriola, with a shovel on the head and causing grievous hurt on her head.
The prosecutor, Akeem Raji, told the court that the accused used a shovel to attack the girl for annoying her.

He said the incident happened on Victor Street, Fagbemi area, Igboginla, Ipaja, Lagos.
The accused pleaded not guilty, prompting the prosecutor to request that the case be accorded the urgency it deserved.
The Magistrate, Mrs B. O. Osunsanmi, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned to December 5.
