An Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, on Thursday, remanded a 23-year-old unemployed man, Chibeze Amechi, for allegedly abducting and defiling a 16-year-old girl.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of abduction and defilement.
The prosecutor, Mrs Olawunmi Osibanjo, told the court that Amechi committed the offences on July 24 at about 6pm at Evergreen Road, Araromi area of Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Osibanjo said Amechi abducted the 16-year-old from the custody of her parents to his house for one month.

The prosecutor also said the accused had carnal knowledge of the girl in contravention of sections 269 and 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The chief magistrate, Mrs A. B. Olagbegi-Adelabu, who did not take the defendant’s plea, ordered that he should be remanded at the Kirikiri custodial facility.
She ordered that the case file should be sent to the State Director of Public Prosecutions for advice. (NAN)
