Court remands security guard over assault

A Magistrate Court in Osogbo, Osun State, Thursday remanded a 33-year-old security guard, Wasiu Ogundipe, in a Correctional Centre for allegedly assaulting a man, Olatunji Quadri.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Temitope Fatoba, told the court that the accused person on March 29, at 9:50pm around Aloha Hotel, Osogbo, conspired with others to assult Olatunji by hitting him with stick and cutlass on the head.

He said the offence was contrary to and punishable under Sections 365, 516 of Criminal Code CAP 34 Vol 11 Law of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.

The accused pleaded not guilty but Magistrate A. A. Adeyeba ordered his remand in Ilesa Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till April 7, 2021.
