A Dei-Dei area court in Abuja on Thursday ordered that a 40-year-old man, Murtala Mohammed, be remanded in a correction facility for allegedly defrauding a woman of N1 million.

The Judge, Malam Saminu Suleiman, ordered that the defendant should be remanded in the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Suleja until June 27, after he pleaded not guilty.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Mr Chinedu Ogade, told the court that the complainant, Hajiya Khadija Abdullahi, reported at the Dutse Alhaji Division on May 2, that some time in December, 2022, the defendant collected N1m from her and promised to get her son and four others enlisted in the military.
