Court remands man for stealing gold chain

A Dei-Dei area court, Abuja, on Tuesday, ordered that a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Zilkifilu, be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly stealing a gold chain worth N24,500.

The prosecutor, Mr Chinedu Ogada, told the court that the complainant, Martha Evans, of Kubwa, Abuja, reported the case at the Byazhin Police Station on January 24, that on the same date the defendant attacked her with a stone for no reason and collected her gold chain worth N24 500, a cell phone valued at N65,000, a power bank valued at N13,000 and N40,000 cash.

The Judge, Mr Saminu Suleiman, ordered that the defendant should be kept in the Suleja Correctional Centre until February14.
