Court remands man for sodomising 7-year-old boy

A Kafanchan magistrates’ court in Kaduna State on Tuesday ordered the remand of a 37-year-old man, Ziyanu Abdulrazak, for sodomising a seven-year-old boy.

The Magistrate, Michael Bawa, who did not take the plea of Abdulrazak for want of jurisdiction, directed the prosecutor to forward the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and adjourned to November 1.

Earlier, counsel to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Marcus Audu, told the court that the boy’s mother reported the matter to the Salama Sexual Assault Referral Centre which forwarded it to the corps’ office in Kafanchan on October 1.

He said Abdulrazak, who resides on Sokoto Street, lured the boy to a bush and sodomised him. (NAN)
