An Osogbo Magistrate Court on Monday remanded a 23-year-old man, Okunola Sodiq, in a correctional centre for allegedly stabbing his co-tenant, Dauda Abdulgafar.
The prosecutor, Olayiwola Razza, told the court that Sodiq deliberately used a knife to inflict deep cut on the victim’s left hand, adding that Dauda is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

He told the court that Sodiq and the victim are tenants in the same house and that the victim suspected Dauda of stealing some properties and reported to their landlord.
The prosecutor said the offense was committed on January 24, 2021 at Zone D2 Fiwasaye community Osogbo.
He said the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 335 of the Criminal Code cap 34 Vol. 2 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
Defence counsel Okobe Najite urged the court to grant his client bail, promising that he would stand his trial.
Magistrate Ishola Omishade ordered the accused to be remanded at the Ilesa Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till February 3, 2021.
