A 28-year-old man, Bello Dambazau, has been remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly parading himself as an officer working with the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano State.
Dambazau was arraigned before a Shari’a court sitting in Kwana Hudu presided over by Nura Yusuf Ahmad over impersonation which is contrary to Section 292 SPCL of the Shari’a court.
He was accused of using an identity card bearing the name of a DSS operative and extorting people of their belongings and bragging as a DSS officer.
When the charges were read by the court, he pleaded guilty. But he rejected the charge that said he addressed himself as an official of the DSS.
