An Iyaganku magistrates’ court in Ibadan on Thursday ordered the remand of a secondary school teacher, Oyebode Alayoteti, at the Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo, for defiling a student in his school.
The Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi, did not take the plea of the defendant, noting that she was awaiting the advice of the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Adetuyibi adjourned to August 18.
Alayoteti (49), a teacher with the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Oyo Town, was arraigned for defilement of a 14-year-old student.
The prosecutor, Insp Folake Ewe, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between November, 2021, and May, 2022.
Isnp Ewe said, “The defendant started molesting the girl since she was in Junior Secondary School (JSS).”
Mr Tunde Olupona appeared for the defendant, while Mrs C. I. Ipinsokan and others held brief for the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA). (NAN)
