Justice Peter Kekemeke of an FCT High Court, Maitama has ordered that an agent, Moses Anyaoha be remanded in the custody of the correctional service for attempting to sneak out of the country.
The police charged Anyaoha with 17 counts, bordering on conspiracy, defrauding, impersonation and forgery among others. Following an application by the prosecutor, Mr Peter Amadi, urging the court to revoke the bail granted the defendant, Kekemeke granted the prayer.
Ruling on the application, the judge held that the affidavit and submission by the defendant’s counsel can dissuade him to the contrary.
“The defendant was not allowed to travel out of the country during the pendency of the suit.
“He failed to do so by wanting to sneak out of the country.
“He does not deserve the discretion of the court, the bail is hereby revoked, the defendant shall be remanded in the custody of the correctional service,” he held.
Kekemeke adjourned the case until 27, Oct as earlier given for trial.
