A magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of five people, Aluko Olajide (29), Kolawole Abayomi (27), Akanle Olarewaju (27), Salaudeen Lukman (30) and Olanipekun Lateef (32), in prison over alleged theft and being members of a secret cult.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants were arrested between June 23 and 26, in connection with a case of conspiracy to steal and being secret cult members.

The Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, ordered the remand of the defendants and adjourned to October 9, for mention pending advice from the DPP.
