An Edo High Court has remanded four suspects, Jeremiah Obazuwa, Sule Kelson Jubril, Silas Uwana and Ogbonmwan Jude, in a correctional centre.

The accused were remanded over alleged kidnapping, impersonation and conspiracy.

The police prosecutor, Louis Odion, told the court that the accused kidnapped one Joseph Bulus from his house on the guise of giving him employment. They were said to have taken him to an unknown destination in handcuffs when they were arrested.

The police said they were arraigned on a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping, impersonation and false representation, among others.

Odion said one of the accused persons, Jeremiah Obazuwa, impersonated the military by wearing a camouflage uniform of the Nigerian military.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused persons pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPD).

The court remanded the accused persons in a correctional centre while awaiting advice from the DPP.
