An Ado-Ekiti Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of a 23-year-old man, Kolawole Taiwo, in the Correctional Centre at Aafo, Ado-Ekiti, over attempted murder.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Oriyomi Akinwale, told the court on Monday that the defendant was suspected to have committed the offence of attempted murder on Shehu Abubakar.

Inspector Akinwale said the offence, which was committed on February 2, 2021, in Ado-Ekiti is punishable under Section 320 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ekiti State 2012.
The prosecutor, however, urged the court to grant him short adjournment to allow him to duplicate the case file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The defendant was represented in court by his counsel, Barr. Time Omotosho.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Adefunmike Anoma, ordered that the defendant be remanded in the correctional centre in Ado-Ekiti, and adjourned the case to February 12, 2021, for hearing.
