It will be recalled that Alhaji Jaafar Sani Bello, one of the PDP gubernatorial aspirants, challenged the emergence of Engr. Yusuf as PDP gubernatorial flag-bearer after the October 1 primary elections held in Kano.

Bello asked the court to declare him as the party’s flag bearer.

Responding to journalists after the judgement, Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Bashir Yusuf Muhammad said the verdict did not surprise him considering the facts he presented before the court.

Meanwhile, the PDP flag bearer Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf called on all supporters of the party to come together for the victory of PDP in all positions come 2019.

In a statement signed by the candidate’s spokesperson, Mr Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, he said the judgement has proven the right decision of the PDP delegates in Kano who massively voted for him as the popular candidate capable of transforming Kano into an economically viable state.
