A Federal High Court in Abuja has declined the request for bail made ex-parte by former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a ruling on Friday, after listening to Okorocha’s lawyer, Ola Olanipekun (SAN), ordered the ex-governor to serve his motion for bail on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for it to be heard.

Olanipekun had, while moving the motion ex-parte asked the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms pending the determination of a motion on notice for bail already filed before the court.
Justice Ekwo adjourned till May 30, the same date his arraignment on the charge filed against him by the EFCC, had earlier been scheduled.
The EFCC arrested Okorocha on May 25 in his Abuja home, claiming the ex-governor and serving Senator jumped the administrative bail earlier granted him.
