Court convicts man for slapping health worker

A Kano Shari’a Court sitting in Gyadi-Gyadi has sentenced one Nura Kabir to one week imprisonment without an option of fine after he was found guilty of assaulting a health worker while discharging her duty.

The court ordered him to pay the complaint, Mariya Musa, the sum of N50,000 for slapping her.

The convict was taken to court following an altercation between him and the health worker when he took his sick daughter to Khalifa Sheikh Isyaka Rabi’u Paediatric Hospital, Zoo Road, Kano.

He was charged with use of excessive power and preventing the health worker from carrying out her lawful duties to which he pleaded guilty.
