A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has adjourned the continuation of the trial of Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley, who has been charged with cybercrime until November 13 and 30.
The case was adjourned by Justice Nicholas Oweibo on Monday due to the absence of the singer from the court. The Soapy singer is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on charges bordering on cybercrime.
The Commission preferred the charges on May 14, 2019, but the court granted him bail in the sum of N2 million, with two sureties in like sum.
The EFCC alleged that Naira Marley and his accomplices conspired to use different bank ATM cards to defraud their victims.

The trial has since commenced in the case and is still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the singer has been caught in a web of controversies based on the death of one of his former signees, Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad, with whom they had an unpleasant fallout. In the heat of their disagreement, both the deceased, Mohbad, and his former boss, Naira Marley made diss tracks.
During the court proceedings on Monday, Mr Olalekan Ojo (SAN) informed the court that Naira Marley was still absent from the trial, in spite of the court’s order for his presence.
In his response, the prosecutor told the court that although she had prayed the court to produce a warrant for the defendant, he was still absent.
The court later adjourned the case until November 13 and 30 for continuation of trial.
