Hadiza told Daily Trust that they had been following the settlement processes that would ensure the payment of salaries of the local government staff, adding that if the processes failed they would legally follow the case to a logical conclusion.

In October 2017, 610 local government staff filed a suit challenging Katsina government for refusing to pay them their 18 months’ salary before Justice E.D.E Isele of the National Industrial Court in Kano seeking payment.

It was also gathered that the Katsina State government had already commenced payment of the salaries of the affected local government staff as part of the agreed settlement processes.

The Presiding Judge, Justice E.D.E Isele, however, adjourned the case for further presentation of the report on the settlement proceedings.
