The BBC, in a counter affidavit presented to the court, argued that since the plaintiff quantified his claim in monetary terms, there was no need for the court to give the order of interim application to stop the use of the soundtrack.

City & Crime had reported that Abdul Kamal sued the BBC Hausa Service for using his sound track in their popular programme, “Daga Bakin Mai Ita”, without his consent.
