Couple remanded for beating policeman

A man and his wife were on Tuesday arraigned before a magistrates’ court in Madalla town in Suleja LGA of Niger State for beating up a policeman who was sent to their house to arrest them.

The prosecutor, ASP John Atine, told the court that the couple, Abdurrazaq Ibrahim (30) and his wife, Nana Ibrahim (24), beat the policeman, Constable, Abubakar Abdullahi, around 2pm on Monday.

He said, “The policeman reported back to the division where re-enforcement was redeployed and the two of them were arrested.’’

The accused denied the allegations and the Magistrate, Joy Asabe Shaba, adjourned the case to October 25.
