Couple arraigned for defrauding 23 people of N52m in Kano

A couple in Kano has been arraigned before a magistrates’ court for allegedly defrauding 23 people of the sum of N52 million.

Muhammad Dahiru Abdul and his wife, Aida Hafizu Balla, alongside one Zahraddeen, were dragged before the court for disguising as foodstuff vendors who sold at cheaper prices and defrauded one Khairat Musa and 22 other people.

They were charged with conspiracy, fraud, deception and breach of trust, charges which they denied, and their counsel, Barr S. A. Haruna, prayed the court to grant them bail.

The Magistrate, Sadiqu Sammani, granted them bail in the sum of N10m with two sureties each and adjourned to March 16, 2023.
