Yendel O’Tarok Movement, a socio-cultural development group of the Tarok people in Plateau State yesterday said they could not accept the ranching policy of the federal government.
They said the Tarok stakeholders meeting of Friday, 24th June, 2016 in Langtang North had resolved to say no to grazing reserve and no to ranching.
A statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the group, Amb. Nanyah Daman and Ms Tabitha Goselle respectively, said stakeholders at the meeting had asked that the ranching policy be stopped until a resolution was reached, adding, “The Tarok stakeholders did not come to a conclusion on the issue of ranching policy but the state and federal government electronic media houses put words in the mouths of Tarok stakeholders that they had accepted the rejected ranching policy of the state and federal government.”
