The National Councilors Forum of Nigeria (NCFN) has urged members across the country to liaise with their respective state Houses of Assembly, state governors, ALGON and other stakeholders to ensure expedited and successful ratification of the Local Government Autonomy Bills (LGAB) as passed by the National Assembly, at the state assemblies.
They made the call on Wednesday in Abuja in a communique at the end of the Extra ordinary meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Central Working Committee (CWC).

The resolution was jointly signed by National President, Hon. Yusuf Shuaibu Aliyu; National Secretary, Hon. Akinsola Kayode Kehinde; Publicity Secretary, Hon. Usman M Usman; and Director General, Alhaji Sani Haruna Adams.
“The NCFN is of the view that through the implementation of the LGAB, the true dividends of democracy shall be realized at the grass root and would also enhance efficiency in the administration of the 3rd tier of government.
“Provision of infrastructure at the grass root should no longer suffer as a result of bureaucratic bottlenecks and lopsided policies; and to NCFN is with the view that it is through the targeted socioeconomic development of the grass root that the security and other numerous challenges bedeviling the nation can be surmounted,” they said.
The forum also urged the state houses of assembly, state governors and ALGON to cooperate with the NCFN at all levels.
