A police corporal, Buba Adamu, who was transferred from the Cross River State Command to the Kaduna State Police Command in 2015 has been arrested after refusing to report at his new station and promoting himself to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).
Adamu was alleged to have been using the uniform and rank of SP to carry out illegal activities in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.
It was learnt that he was operating as an officer of the combative corps, Police Mobile Force (PMF), without reporting to any specific police command since 2015.

“There are allegations that he has been carrying out criminal activities around Bacoco, Nassarawa area of Calabar. All these will be investigated with a view to prosecuting him.”
