Coronavirus: VP Osinbajo tests negative

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has tested negative to Covid-19.

His spokesperson, Laolu Akande, confirmed this today in text message to react to various inquiries on the status of the vice president.

“Good morning sirs and ma, I have been inundated with calls on whether indeed the VP had undergone a COVID-19 test and the outcome. Yes, he has and results negative. An official tweet would follow. Thanks,” Akande said.

Prof. Osinbajo is currently in self-isolation as advised by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Akande, in on his twitter handle @akandeoj, said the vice president conducted his meetings via video conferencing, while observing social distancing.

He said Prof. Osinbajo is now working from home.

The tweet read: “VP Osinbajo on Monday at the office conducted his meetings via video conferencing, while observing social distancing. Today, he continues his work from the home office, as he is in self-isolation in accordance with NCDC protocols.”
