Coronavirus: MOPPAN orders lockdown of Kannywood activities

The Kannywood industry regulatory body, Motion Picture Practitioners’ Association of Nigeria, MOPPAN, has ordered the suspension of all film making  activities.

This was contained in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the association, Al’amin Ciroma,

In the statement the National President, Dr. Ahmad Muhammad Sarari said the step is a preventive measure aimed, “at curbing the spread of the dreaded coronavirus.”

“The president has directed all Kannywood guilds and association to comply with directive and lockdown all production sets where Kannywood members are involved across its sphere.”

Confirming the the authenticity of the letter to our reporter, the National President, Dr. Sarari said, “Yes, the letter is from us. We ordered the suspension.”
