This was contained in a letter signed by the Registrar of COREN and dated December 15, 2014.
According to the letter, the Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Elect/Elect Engineering, Met/Mat Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Polymer/Textile Engineering and Civil Engineering for undergraduates were given full accreditation from October 2014 to October 2019.
For Post Graduate Diploma programmes, full accreditation was given to, Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer/Textile Engineering, Civil Engineering and Elect/Elect Engineering while the  Petroleum Engineering Department received Interim Accreditation from October 2014 to October 2016.
The exercise, added the letter, was about quality assurance aimed at ensuring that products of engineering programmes in tertiary institutions are sound and functional with engineering personnel that meet the challenges of society and compete satisfactorily with their counterparts anywhere in the world.
It further stated that the success of the accreditation was due to the facilities on ground in the university especially the new ultra-modern magnificent outstanding SEET Building complex which was described as an architectural masterpiece and the best engineering building in the country.
The COREN accreditation team led by Engineer Babagana Mohammed had between October 13 and 15 last year visited FUTO for facilities and resources assessment of all engineering programmes in the institution.
