The Cooperative Mortgage Bank has appointed Musa Abubakar Yusuf as the substantive Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.
He is to take over from the outgoing MD/CEO, Kabir Ayinde-Tukur, who will bow out at the end of the year alongside the board chairman, Air Vice Marshal Walter Ogujiofor (retd), and the board’s audit committee chairman, Chief Oluwole Okunnuga.
Yusuf is the current deputy managing director, of the bank.
Established in 1994, Cooperative Mortgage Bank sits on the board of the International Cooperative Banking Association and currently boasts N3.5b share capital.
The bank also announced the appointment of Samuel Akinsete as the board chairman.
At an event held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to celebrate the retirement, members of staff and guests poured encomiums on the trio for having positioned CMB as the leading mortgage bank in the country.
The new MD/CEO said his predecessor had created a solid foundation for progress and continuity, noting that the time had come to move from the most vibrant mortgage bank in Nigeria to the most vibrant financial institution in Africa, while leveraging technology and innovation.
He assured Nigerians of quality and affordable houses, adding that value would always be the focus.
