Controversy as Buhari’s praise singer, Rarara, hits Ganduje

There is a controversy in Kano and some sections of the social media over a new song released by President Muhammdu Buhari’s popular praise singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, who tackled Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Rarara, who is the president of a political group within the Kannywood, 13X13 Movement, had been at the forefront of praising Ganduje and accorded him support during the 2015 and 2019 general elections.

It was gathered the singer is not supporting Dr Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano, rather declaring his support to Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada of Action Democratic Party (ADP).

But he insisted that he still belongs to APC and supports the Tinubu/Shettima presidential bid.

However, in a new song he released on Wednesday campaigning for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rarara confirmed his dispute with Ganduje and also described the governor as a crow (Hankaka), an anecdote to a two-faced person.

Rarara equally accused Ganduje of a plot to have his name not included in the presidential campaign council of the APC.

“You asked them to remove my name and I heard it, but I have never said my name should be included. All the meetings you have been holding were known to me. We will contribute to Tinubu without belonging to any team. You are a crow and we will show you we are the best in singing….,” Rarara said in the song.

Reacting to the incident, people expressed divergent views with some saying it is an in-house fighting.

Others said Rarara is fond of sabotaging anyone that does not share the same page with him, alleging that he has done that to people that brought him to the limelight.

“Rarara called Shekarau “Barawo and Duna”, his opponents cheered. He then called Kwankwaso “Tsula and Jan Biri”, and his opponents also cheered. Now, he has called Ganduje “Hankaka”.  He has come full cycle and it’s time that this utter disrespect is stopped!,” Aminu Kutama said on Twitter.

He added that one day, when Buhari becomes a former president, Rarara will insult him.

Kwankwaso’s Twitter said, “This time around it’s Rarara Vs Ganduje, calling Ganduje Hankaka (crow).”

Another Twitter user, Adam Abdul said, “A praise singer called Dumbulun insulted Rarara. But Rarara went ahead and retaliate on Ganduje. He is the real crow not Ganduje. But the song is sweet.”

Bashir Abdullahi El-bash said on Facebook, “I fear the day when the youth in Kano will beat Rarara for insulting our leaders. He is the real crow, moving from one candidate to another.”

Abdullahi Umar Bichi said, “Tinubu is coming to Kano next week. Since you said you can contribute to him even without an appointment, I dare you to come to the venue on that day,” he said.
