..Contribute 2,500mw to national grid –Nebo

Prof. Nebo who gave the figures at the weekend during the commissioning of the 750mw Olorunsogo II NIPP plant in Ogun State said, “Actual generation capacity has consistently hovers around 5000mw with NIPP contribution rising daily as more units are synchronised into the grid system.
Olorunsogo plant is the third to be commissioned by President Goodluck Jonathan, 14 months after he commissioned the 434mw Geregu II plant and 500mw Omotosho plant in Kogi and Ondo states in October 2013.
Minister of State, Power Mohammed Wakil on his part said, “In few days, Nigerians will be briefed on the over 300 rural electrification projects initiated and completed by the Jonathan presidency.”
Earlier, the Managing Director of NIPPs handling company, the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), Mr James Olotu said contrary to some media reports, ‘the power plants like Olorunsogo and others are real and are not photoshops.’
“We read some media reports that pictures of some of our power plants are foreign ones planted to dupe Nigerians. There is no truth in such allegation; you are all live here at Olorunsogo, this is real,” Olotu said.
