Consumers urged to safeguard water projects

He made the call in Calabar at a stakeholders’ interactive session to mark the 2015 World Water Day celebration.
He said: “We believe that consumers should act as the watchdog of the water projects in their communities. This is why we go whole hug  and sign MoUs with community leaders, youths and prominent figures to ensure that they police these projects to ensure sustainability.”
He said when communities take ownership of water projects in their domains they would be able to monitor and check vandalism, adding that this would save money for the government to meet other funding obligations.
